Density of LOVE

Mid Summer is a typical story about kids on there summer days. The story gives us an idea what or how kids think at there age on a summer. The most interesting thing that I noticed in the story is that I think at there age they already have sexual urges, I think the children in the story are not Pilipino, because children here in our country are not that. Well these assumptions are based from my childhood experiences. I like the part where the kids use candies to describe other kids it was weird and funny. It’s a good indication that they are still children, yet at that summer time it marked a very important part of there life. Its that stage that they are maturing.

The other thing that caught my attention is the scene where the brother of the guy saw the two kids having fun and said SHIT. Because he saw his little brother having fun with a; not so good looking girl. So after the older brother took his brother and said he will introduce him to real éclairs. Éclairs are something like a metaphor for girls, using metaphors for girls its interesting I haven’t tried it yet.

I The Marriage its about the struggle of a husband that is not able to do his THING with his wife because his incapacitated. In there relationship its both of them are struggling well in the case of the wife she is kinda suppressed since they were married and for the guy he had a stroke the problem is his kinda; how may I say this ahhh his worthless, because he cant do anything.

In both of the stories Mid Summer and The Marriage I was uneasy when I read them. Both of them are very short and easy to understand but when I read it a few times more I realize that the story is telling more than what it seems. When you read Flash fiction you should pay attention to all the details to get the real message of the author its entertaining.

Ahh lesson learned from the stories love can be really happy and it can also be really sad. I realized that when you grow old the degree of love change, it will have more density compared to teenage love. Also when you are still young you should make the best out of life learn from experience to be a better person in the end and be prepared to for the consequences on making critical decision in our life

Final Flight

Honestly I am not a big fan of watching Pilipino movies but La Visa Loca was an interesting movie. I think the last Pilipino movie I watched was Batang X and that was ages ago. The movie was very entertaining, it was funny unlike any other movies the humor in the story was not force it was really funny. I like the story and the cinematography of this film; it was good all in all.

I think the main message of the film is what people will do to achieve there dreams and how people realize what are the important things in a there lives. The film depicts what our realty is. I think the story reflects what is happening in our country, people wants to go to America because they think that they will have a better chance of living when they are there, but in reality not everybody ends up that lucky. Most people are so used with this idea that they end up having a more miserable life.

A major symbol that I saw is the part where Jess allowed himself be crucified in exchange for his boss to recommend him to be a nursing aid in America. Its like when Jesus was crucified for our salvation. I guess that in Jess’s case he will do almost everything to achieve his dream, even to let his own father to stay in a home for the aged. But unlike Jesus story in the end I feel like he regretted everything he did to achieve his dream. Because he didn’t continue in going abroad.

I realized in this movie that you will only feel the importance of one thing when you are in the break of loosing them.

For our Philippine literature class overall it was fun. Almost all of the stories we read were interesting. They where good because I not the type that loves reading stories the stories we tackled entertained me masaya masaya!!. The only stories that I didn’t like is May Day Eve and The Mats those stories where kinda boring. The stories that rocked where Getting Better and The Tale of the Spinster and Peter Pan. The other stories where ok, some were cheesy but still good.

The things I didn’t like about the class is the part that we have to make blogs. It was a good idea but in some cases it was really troublesome in the part of us students. It was not that effective because we do it after the stories were discussed, so the tendency is we could just listen to the reporter and we can make our blogs without reading the story. I think it would be better if the students would pass a paper about the story before it will be discussed in class like in our Litform class. Well its just my suggestion so that the students will be forced to read the stories before hand, so when the stories are discussed in class it will be more interactive and more interesting. Another thing is that to be able to create posts in our blog we have to have internet access, its stressful sometimes because some students have easy access to the internet so its kinda stressful. Beside from that it was all good.

So finally in our Philippine literature class it was really fun I really enjoy this class. And the lesson I learned in this class madame! Some good some bad. If Im going to rate the class from a scale of 1 to 10 ill rate it an 8. I had a blast sana pass ako hehe!!! Last thing masaya pala mag blog hehe

Falling leaves

In both of the story Love in the Cornhusks and in the Virgin I noticed that both the writers are trying to convey something, its something I don’t understand its like a girl thing. As discussed in class the characters in the story are less romanticized compared to male writers. In Love in the Cornhusk and The Virgin the main characters namely Tinang and Miss Mijares are bound by circumstantial situations they can’t do pretty much nothing about it, in what had happened to there lives. They are forced to decide or they don’t have enough choices with there lives. Another thing I noticed that the authors emphasize on is the social factors that surround the characters, all in all both stories are interesting specially the virgin, it made me realize that girls can be very desperate when they rich there prime and still haven’t felt love.

Well I think this thing happen right here right now. Let’s face it not every story in this world end like fairy tales sometimes it doesn’t ends happily ever after. Sometimes we do things that in the future will see our backs against the wall because of love. These things I mean what happen to Ms. Mejares and Tinang also happens to the opposite sex but in a different circumstances like for example when a guy gets his girl pregnant certain situation will arise but the difference is that guys, how may I say this sometimes guys can set aside there emotions so they can make certain choices in there life. In the example I made I can see two probable choices for that guy he could either take the responsibility or just ran away. But in the story the girls get to emotional and think about what other people says so, I cant tell if they made the right decision or not but come to think of it wasn’t really a forced choice for them, but the fact that they are girls maybe there something in to it, more than what I can tell. It’s a girl thing hehe

The moral that I can tell is that when you are prepared to fall in love be ready to feel heaven and also be prepared to feel hell. As I told not all love stories end up happily believe me I can tell. But when things get rough there always a backdoor. Also when making life changing decisions in life always and I mean ALWAYS think 3 moves ahead

Good But Not Good Enough But Still Good Though

First of all, the story Smaller and Smaller circles is an interesting story. To be honest it’s the first Filipino novel I ever read and finish. It’s quite good for an investigative genre, but the downfall of it is that it’s too predictable. It has nothing special in it that made me kinda disappointed. Another thing that I didn’t like is that the main investigators of the crime are priests, its weird that’s me anyway and there like sidekicks of some sort (like come on people were so use to this). Saenz is the man that is more likely Gil Grisome of C.S.I. and Jerome is like the ever trustful sidekick. I always see this kinda of things in investigative nobles its becoming cliché already, and there priest for crying out loud priest like come on.

Some things that I observed are that the setting in the story is the Philippines but its not like the Philippines, the places are found in the Philippines but there ambiance is not Philipinish, its like; its happening here but the difference is that American people are the characters. It’s just to westernize the concept, plot down to the characters its kinda annoying. The most annoying part is when this dude talks and described like a surfer dude and a some kind of a black American combined. Where did that came from? That’s sick, it just doesn’t fit.

What makes this type of stories interesting is the way the investigators get to solve the case, like how they put the puzzle pieces in the right place. But in our story’s case they got a lead from a reporter. This is the main reason why I got disappointed in the story. I give credit to the author in giving a good description about the way the serial killer do his thing it was gory and nice.

The serial killer Alex Carlos was kinda awkward for a Pilipino. I think that when we get angry about something we get revenge with the person we hate or something. In Alex case he kills helpless children again it’s not pilipinish. But he kills his victims in such a cool way I give him a perfect 10 for that especially the way he cuts the face of the children that sick.

The moral of this story is that not all doctors are good some of them are out to get us so be afraid be very afraid!

Getting on and Getting off

Getting better is really an interesting story, not just because of the sex in it (hehe well at least most of it). It’s an interesting story because of the plot that I think that happens in real life. The characters are very realistically constructed that it fits the story really well. The best liked about the story is the part where someone is narrating on how girls gets over a relation and the part how she recovers from it. For a long time now I been wondering why girls cut there hair with no particular reasons. This story made me realize how hard it is to enter and get out of a relationship, its really hard I experience that first had it sucks.

One thing I noticed in the story is that people here in the Philippines can be classified in to two the old fashioned type of people the conservatives, and the out going people that the liberals. As seen in this story it’s kinda describing and comparing with the conservative people and the liberal people. The problem with us Pilipino is that some of us are very conservative specially when its all about sex, (Parang sex at napakasamang bagay). While in the other hand some of u are very liberal well in sex I mean (ung tipong kahit saan, kahit sino gagawin un at hagit anong oras). Almost all people can be classified in to this always on the extreme side of each other; I think that it will be better if we could just be in the middle of it that I call (having an open mind about things). Like came on people sex is happens (well in the story it happens alot) in real life it happens well just have to look at it in a logical manner. What I mean look at sex not like a very disgusting thing to do and also not sex as a fast time, but us something couples do that is special.

With the sex a side the lesson I learned from this story is that people become really vulnerable when there back is against the wall. People are can become really needy when they have problems and when they have problems they try a lot of things to forget about it. And one last thing when having sex be sure to use protection to prevent BUSTRADS hehe or else it will be really troublesome. As for the title I just made it up im really sleepy na kc

Well the most interesting thing that i liked about the
story is that its a fairytale but in a modern day or i may say in
a more realistic setting. Its interesting unlike fairytails that
has prince and princesses, the Tale of The spinster and Peter pan
is more realistic. The plot of the story can really happen in real
life (kakaiba sya). F.Y.I. spinster is tha opposite of
bachelor(ngayon ko lang nalaman un). At a personal level i can
relate to what a life she has, a life that is very routinal the
boring life ( well this feeling sucks everytime i think of it). But
in her case she was comfortable with that feelling, if anything
changes in her daily routine it will be troublesome for her. The
spinster is in a different ganre of woman we discussed the past few
weeks. Because of all the other woman in other stories the spinster
had the chance to choose, the situation that she is in didn't
forced her to choose what the next seen would be (she didn't let
the situation controll her instead she controlled the situation).
She followed her own path thats why she is the most interesting
character we had disccused.
Peter Pan oh i mean Joel wasn't really peter pan'ish as he
looks, his more like the Gaston character in Beauty and the
Beast(the maginoo pero medyo maniac type hehe ^^,). It reminds me
of that saying "dont judge the book by its cover rather judge by
the synopsis hehe". Most of the time when a guy is in a band they
tend to be really cocky with themselves (over confident to the
point na sobrang yabang na!!!). So when joel approach the Spinster,
the spinster got offended because Joel was to agressive in
conversing with her. Joel is one of those guys that look good from
afar but not at close. So spinster with the great picture of him
that she made up in her mind was becoming kinda blurry, she was
having second thoughts when Joel talked to her and besides the fact
that she didn't like the manner he was talking to her she remained
calm. Until at that point where she got enough of Joels crap she
left the bar and never came back.
To rap things up every tale has lesson to be learned. The
lessoned i learned is go to class when you have a report and bring
the stuffs you need when to class. the most important thing i
learned is that we should live life to the fullest no matter hor
boring or hard it gets. We should learm how to read people read
them not by the way they look instead read them on how they think
and act. One more thing The End Justfy the means

A Bread of Salt On a may day Eve

My thoughts on the story Bread of Salt, my idea is i think that the bread of salt that is referred in the story is the girl that the 14 year old boy liked. Because at first the girl is like the bread to him, well essentially its a metaphoric thing to describe that girl on the point of view of the 14 year old boy. So basically at first he looks at the girl like bread that feeds life to him. When your at that stage in life that you are beginning to see things somewhat differently, and that the girl of your dreams is almost everything to you, you tend to very romantic and feel that you know everything about her. even you just see her passing bay and other mushy things and stuffs, but in reality you don't even have the guts to talk to her face to face well every guy goes to that stage I think. At the end of the story the boy realized that the bread that he liked suddenly became salty all of a sudden because of that one particular incident. So my guess is that the bot got smacked in the face by reality, that not everything in this world does not go as well as we expect I specifically experienced that first hand and it really suck and I mean really SUCKS!!

Well on the story May Day Eve, honestly i didn't like it that much. Because I think its just about superstitious belief that we Filipinos are so accustomed too. The story evolved in this 2 character named Aguida and Badoy and there regretful relationship so to speak. I say this because they call each other the devil and a witch, even for a metaphor its kinda to harsh if if you think of it really. Translate it in our time they call them (btihc) and (man hroe) its spelled differently you just have to figure it out. I feel like there relationship with each other is like hell and at the end of it all they both regret it. Come to think of it the moral of the story is that people shouldn't expect to much so that they wont regret to much in the end , because iI believe that in life we shouldn't expect we should just hope.

Maybe some or most of you must be wondering why i made the title a Bread of Salt on May Day Eve. As they say that may is the best month for couples thats what they say so i just made it a little interesting make the best month for couples be the chance for them to taste each others bread of salt. hehe

Something for Nothing

For the story My Father goes court the first thing I observed was the discrimination between the rich and the poor. As discussed in our class the author lived in the time of the great depression on America so maybe he was telling his audience about it. For my understanding of the story is that the author was trying to tell us about discrimination and shows the big gap between the rich and the poor. When i was watching a movie Bleach it came to my mind that the author of the story was also trying to tell how people act based on there social status, for example the rich should be the ones with power and be able to press on the poor and the poor should be the ones who are miserable and should be sad. So basically the idea is ( the rich are suppose to act these way and the poor should act like that ). While in the other hand the story proved other wise, Carlos Bulosan expressed in this story that people can break the barrier between ones social status and act according to ones will and contentment.

For the story How my Brother Leon Broth home a Wife I noticed that the characters are basically representing what Filipinos are like specially in the provinces. He forged in this story the Philippine culture and describe the environment or the ambiance here in the Philippines. Manuel Arguilla showed the simplicity of common people and the difference on how families here differ from how families are in the states.

The common things i observed in both Carlos Bulosan and Manuel Arguilla is there passion for writing even they are both in America. They have the spirits of nationalism in there stories because even they are not in our country they wrote stories about the Philippines and the Filipinos. Also I noticed that in both their stories it emphasizes on the Filipinos culture and the simplicity. I think that they also want to show our attitude towards life like for example we pinoys tend to laugh a lot even we have problems or entertain our selves when where tense, like Noel and Maria sang on the way to Noels house. And for the heck of it ,they are after all writing for an American readers; maybe they are telling them that Filipinos are not that different from the Americans and telling them trite us kindly or something

Me Myself and I

What can I tell about my self well? All I can say that my life is really plain. I like to watch the clouds, the stars, and loves the rain. Besides from doing nothing I like to watch anime and movies, eat ice cream, play games, and solve puzzles. I don’t like troublesome things I’m the type that doesn’t likes complication in life. I hate things that make no sense and curse people who make no sense at all. What else I can say about my self? Ahhhh I like to entertain my self by playing games and solving puzzle pieces, once a week my brother and I watch movies its some sort of a pastime I guess. Every once in a while I go to festival mall to just buy dairyqueen ice cream “ice cream is the best invention that man ever made!”. I use to play a lot of kinds of sports like basketball, volleyball, and tennis “I guess I lost interest with them its kinda boring for me now” and also I use to draw a lot when I was in high school its kinda a hobby back then I lost interest in it too. My beliefs in life, well for me I believe that people don’t change they just change clothes, my motto is there is no point living if you cant live to die and live life with no regrets and no hesitation. I also believe that life is not fair “people are not made equally well that’s just me if you have any problems with that well create your own blog! hehehe”. People say that the most beautiful thing that will happen to a person is love, for me its self fulfillment. As for love I think it’s a double edge sword that may work for good or for the bad to a person. The bottom line of this blog is that I am just a lazy person who loves to watch the clouds and wonder about things.

As for being a Filipino it’s not really a big deal, it’s not that important for me. Nationalism doesn’t matter I don’t care much about it, considering the facts of what are the things happening to our country. Come to think of it; our country kinda sucks. And for looking on to people there nationality isn’t important to me what’s important for me is how a person thinks and how he goes along with people. The concept of nationality is somewhat troublesome!

Mendokse means troublesome

No Rain

All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watchin' the puddles gather rain

And all I can do is just pour some tea for two
and speak my point of view
But it's not sane, It's not sane

I just want some one to say to me
I'll always be there when you wake
Ya know I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today
So stay with me and I'll have it made

And I don't understand why I sleep all day
And I start to complain that there's no rain
And all I can do is read a book to stay awake
And it rips my life away, but it's a great escape
escape...escape...escape...
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
ya don't like my point of view
ya think I'm insane
Its not sane...it's not sane.
I could never make it alone

shout out to someone you made my life with no rain
